Testicular tissue cryopreservation is an option for prepubertal patients receiving fertility threatening treatments who are not yet producing sperm and therefore are unable to provide a semen sample. Some programs also offer this fertility preservation method to transgender adolescents who meet certain criteria and do not wish to produce a sperm sample. In the future, using cryopreserved testicular tissue may help these patients to have biological children.
