ReproTech Responds to the Dobbs Decision that reverses Roe vs. Wade

On June 24, 2022, the Supreme Court overturned federal protections for abortion in the Dobbs vs. Jackson decision that reversed Roe vs. Wade. We expect this will also affect reproductive medicine and long-term reproductive cryostorage in the coming months and years. ReproTech continues to work with our legal advisors to determine how this ruling and subsequent personhood laws will impact our cryostorage services as state “trigger” laws go into effect and new laws are written. We are closely monitoring the guidance of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) and the American Association of Tissue Banks (AATB). We currently do not expect any impact on operations and processes at our any of our locations, including ReproTech Texas. We have prepared an FAQ blog post on how the reversal of Roe vs. Wade applies to human reproductive tissue storage and the specimens you have or soon will have in storage at ReproTech. In addition, ASRM has released a report on the Potential Implications for Reproductive Medicine. We stand ready to assist our clients in every way possible to achieve their family-building goals. ReproTech is fortunate to have nationwide locations in five states that gives us the flexibility to provide all cryostorage and dispositions options to our clients now and in the future.  As always, the ReproTech team is available to answer your questions. Please feel free to contact the ReproTech location storing your specimens.
