Honoring Her Mother’s IVF Journey: A Daughter’s Perspective

At ReproTech, we understand that every fertility journey is deeply personal—because some of us have been there ourselves. Our team comes from all walks of life, and the lived experiences we carry add depth and heart to the work we do. When we safeguard embryos, eggs, sperm, or reproductive tissue, we don’t just see specimens—we see potential. It’s a responsibility we don’t take lightly.

“My mom’s journey reminds me every day of the weight of what we protect at ReproTech. For many, it’s not just biology—it’s possibility. And I’m honored to be part of a team that understands that.” -Holly

For Holly, one of our team members, that responsibility is rooted in her own beginnings—as a twin born through IVF. Her story offers a powerful perspective on why the work we do matters. We invite you to read it and learn how personal experience shapes the care we provide.

My Mother’s Journey

Some fertility stories are told by the people who lived them—and some are told by the people who came from them. This is my mother’s fertility journey—a story I’ve carried with me my entire life, one that has profoundly shaped how I view family-building and my role at ReproTech.

My mom didn’t have trouble getting pregnant—but she struggled to stay pregnant. After several heartbreaking miscarriages, IVF became her last hope. By that point, she was emotionally exhausted, but remarkably at peace. She told me she had come to the conclusion at the time, “If it didn’t work, it just wasn’t meant to be.”

But it did work.

Thanks to the support of deeply compassionate and skilled doctors, my mom felt something she hadn’t felt in a long time: calm. “I had brilliant, caring doctors,” she said. “There were no doubts in my mind because I trusted them to do a great job.” That trust gave her peace.

Four embryos were transferred. Two implanted. At age 42, my mom gave birth to me and my twin sister.

“I believe access to IVF is a human right. Everyone deserves the chance to grow their family if that’s their dream.”

A Full-Circle Moment

Decades later, I work at ReproTech, helping others navigate this same path—people just like my parents, full of cautious hope and quiet strength.

I believe access to IVF is a human right. Everyone deserves the chance to grow their family if that’s their dream. My parents were given that chance. And now, I get to help others hold on to theirs. I wouldn’t be here, doing this work, without IVF.

My mom’s journey reminds me every day of the weight of what we protect at ReproTech. For many, it’s not just biology—it’s possibility. And I’m honored to be part of a team that understands that.
